Step 1

Complete your assignment

Task, Brainstorm, Write, Upload

1. Read the task. Ash sets a piece and it appears on your page with the words To do. Open it: the cover page shows the title, the time allowed and the rules. Download and print the answer sheet.
2. Brainstorm. The planning page gives ideas to think about. Plan on paper for a few minutes first.
3. Write. Write by hand on the answer sheet in blue or black pen, in the time allowed, as in the real exam.
4. Upload. Scan all your pages into one PDF (a free phone scanning app works well) and hand it in. The button changes to Under review.

Step 2

Your work is reviewed

Marked against Ash's mark scheme, Ash checks and approves, feedback released

1. Marked against Ash's mark scheme. Your pages are marked against Ash's own mark scheme.
2. Ash checks and approves. Ash reads every mark and comment and changes anything he wants. Nothing reaches you until he approves it.
3. Feedback released. When Ash has finished, the button changes to Read feedback.

Step 3

Improve your writing

Read feedback, study sample writing, submit one redraft

1. Read feedback. See your mark, what went well, what to do next time and spellings to learn.
2. Study sample writing. A sample answer opens only after your feedback, so you always try it first on your own.
3. Submit one redraft. Use the feedback to write the piece again. You can hand in one redraft.

Safe and private

• Each child signs in with their own ID and password and sees only their own work.
• Nothing reaches a child until Ash has checked and approved it.
• The pages are stored privately and are never public.
